Bringing Medical Science Out of the Darkness of the Lab into the Light
Medical science occupies a dark area of human history, with doctors akin to the fictional Dr. Frankenstien. The problem was, and is, how to study the human body without destroying it. The earliest methods of exploration was disection. To, literally, take apart the human body to see how it worked. Medicine (from it's earliest times) deals with the prevention of death. To do so, it must investigate and understand the mechanisms of death. Disection was, and still (primarily) is, the only way. Medical students to this date, learn by disection the dead bodies donated to medical research. Understanding death, is a necessity to understand life. This is why our logo, while said by some to be "disturbing", is the most appropriate logo for our cutting edge medical research. This logo ties this institute to both the pioneering past of medical science and the hope of the future. Without fear, we move forward into the unknown of human existance.
