- IRB (Institutional Review Board) - After the vioxx and FDA scandals, the decision was made to develop a completely new system of review and quality of research control. A standard that is completely free, and objective.
- We have changed our funding formula and will no longer depend on just funding agencies.
- Funds for medical research will come from a blind pool or trust.
- The goal is that no one source can provide more than 10% of the fund's total
- We are opening our IRB and research for free
- No fee is charged for sponsored research, just a donation is requested
- We will, however, offer our IRB to other IRBs that need position(s) filled for only $12,000 per year or $1000/month (US). This means that IRBs can outsource just about any position for only $1000/month - as opposed to hiring at an average of $25,000 plus benefits.
- We've adjusted the research levels required to bring any procedure, medicine or device into clinical use.
- Basic Research
- Medical Study (new)
- Clinical Study plus research list
- Clinical Trial
- Monitored/Early Clinical Use (new)
- Tissue Regeneration - Historically, as people age tissue regeneration (from injury) becomes more difficult. Historically, because we have successfully slowed the clock on aging. Any organ in the body is tissue - including the bones and skin. There are two natural forms of tissue degeneration - injury, which causes immediate damage to tissue and aging which is slow and (obviously) comes with age. Minor tissue damage (small cuts) is dealt with a coving (a band-aid). More serious tissue damage requires medical attention. However, after viewing tissue generation (growth) in children, it was determined that - with an understanding of chemistry and organic chemistry - tissue in adult (which has stopped growing) can be regenerated.
- Osteo Science - Continuing this research we have begun medical studies in several areas of bone growth and maintainance.
- Teeth - this is an unusual area, in that, teeth (adult teeth) are not supposed to grow. However, we have been successful in getting the human body to repair a hair-line crack.
- Bone Density - after achieving 2 inches of growth, we focused on maintaining density - but ended up increasing bone density.
- A clinical study has begun on a patient post hip replacement surgery aimed at using physio to deal with specific issues of osteo science. This is based on applying mechanisms found and developed during several osteo science medical studies.
- Cardiology - The heart is the cardiac muscle and like all muscles it grows, shrinks and functions just like any other muscle.
- Vascular Science - a medical study has begun to provide a mechanism that will allow the body to repair any vein and/or artery in the body.
- Immunology - With the increase in allergies and drug resistant strains of microbes, this is an area were success with alternatives is required. Fortunately, we have had success with both allergies and drug resistant strains of microbes.
- SARS and the Flu Clinical Study - This is a huge area of study. Currently, with the threat of bird flu and the regular emergence of new strains every year, the focus has been on prevention via vaccine. However, dealing with the illness itself is also important. This study has been successful in increasing immunity and the ability to fight off infection. We have been able to see the cough suppressant ability of chocolate on a repeated basis. Further, we have seen unusual changes in body chemistry caused by these new strains of flu. In medical study we were able to reduce the severity of the flu, and now in clinical study we were able to achieve a one year period flu free in a patient that previously experienced between 3 to 6 flus per year. From January of 2004 to January of 2005, the patient experienced no head/chest infection and no stomach/gi infection. This study will continue for another two years.
- Allergies and Allergen Response Clinical Study - This study is going into its second season, with the 2004 allergy season completed with no allergy medication required. Further, any reactions that did occur were very mild and short (lasting no longer than 5 minutes).
- General Health Clinical Study - when more serious health issue become a major concern, it's equally important to look at general health.
- Quality of Care - Is of major concern, with the massive increases in the cost of medicine, fewer people can be helped. In systems like in Canada, there are longer waits for specialists. While, in systems like in the US, fewer people are covered by health insurance. The major issue from a patient survey is the quality of care that they are getting from their doctors. This includes patient confusion about taking medication and dosage mistakes made doctors.
- Public Health Care project - with the increase concern for the quality of care and the access to health care in an atmosphere of increased medical costs, this project was started. It provides free health care to the public for free, while researching alternative methods of paying for its cost.
- Neurology
- Stroke Research (neurology) - A new medical study on strokes has begun. At this point, we are currently, doing a general survey. This survey should provide a good picture of how large of a problem exists, what's been done and what options are available. The survey will run continuously, with quarterly assessments.
- Nerve sensitivity - We have moved a medical study of nerve sensitivity into a gi clinical study.
